CLINIC TYPES
In addition to lessons, we also offer educational group clinics which are suitable for everyone, regardless of their chosen equine discipline. The different clinic types are as follows:
GROUNDWORK CLINICS
Groundwork clinics focus solely on groundwork and the groundwork covered all directly relates to ridden work. This helps set things up for young horses that are yet to be started undersaddle but also breaks things down and makes things easier to understand for the ridden horse. If time allows, we will also put the skills you've learnt into practice with some basic obstacles which are also great for building confidence and fun. Suitable for young/unstarted horses as well as older/started horses to improve ground skills/manners.
RIDDEN CLINICS - INTRODUCTORY
Introductory Ridden Clinics are ideal for those who are newer to riding, are nervous/have lost confidence, or getting back in the saddle after some time away. We pride ourselves on creating a safe and supportive learning environment where you can progress at your own pace, while encouraging you to gently step outside your comfort zone when needed, to help you achieve your goals and boost your confidence. They are also a great way to introduce young/green horses to being ridden in a group in a low-energy and controlled environment. Introductory Ridden Clinics begin with some groundwork (usually around an hour) before transitioning to riding. The format is flexible, tailored to the needs of the individual horses/riders, addressing any challenges that arise, as well as covering off, as time allows, any specific areas that individuals wish to work on.
RIDDEN CLINICS - DEVELOPMENT
Development Ridden Clinics are ideal for riders who are confident to walk, trot and canter and are wanting to advance their skills with more refinement and finesse. As long as you feel comfortable to ride at all three gaits - even if your horse is young/green and inexperienced - this clinic will also be a good fit for you. We pride ourselves on creating a safe and supportive learning environment where riders can build on their existing foundations and continue to grow in confidence and take their riding to the next level. Scott is passionate about developing horses that are light, responsible and confident - making them enjoyable to ride and able to perform at their best. The Development Ridden Clinics will focus on progressing your riding through refining/advancing your existing skills and introducing more advanced exercises (such as lateral work, quality of transitions etc) that are tailored to suit the level of you and your horse. The Development Clinics also begin with a brief groundwork component (usually no more than 30 minutes) before starting the ridden work. As with the Introductory Ridden Clinics, the format is flexible, tailored to the needs of the individual horses/riders, addressing any challenges that arise, as well as covering off, as time allows, any specific areas that individuals wish to work on. The aim is to build on your existing foundation to develop horses that are well-prepared, balanced, and ready to get out and about - whether for pleasure or competition.
